Card issuers are all out to woo customers and are offering some of the best deals - from airline tickets to bonuses etc., just for signing up for their cards and making the first purchase.

Another couple stated that they preferred the cashback cards as they managed to put back $250 into their accounts because of that.
For some others, the top choice is the store rewards card. This is especially important if you go to the stores very often. It is a nice feeling when people at the store recognize this and give freebies.
When you make a comparison of the rewards cards such as store rewards, air miles, cashback etc., airline cards still manage to top the list. However, the consumer reports magazine claims that it depends entirely on what you would prefer. Airline points somehow seem to have the best in terms of value. Some of the worst in terms of value are merchandise that is offered in the catalogs such as laptops and TVs, since most of them are grossly overpriced.
