Once you purchase the card, it's activated at the register, and can be used like a credit card at retailers within the U.S., which accept Visa. While the OneVanilla Prepaid Visa card can be used at leading retailers, you can't use it at ATM's to get a cash advance. Also it's not re-loadable, so once you use up of the amount on the Vanilla Visa prepaid card you will have to purchase another one.

Customers can also upgrade their Vanilla Visa card from a prepaid credit card to the MyVanilla Card, which acts like a personalized debit card. You can load this card with any amount you wish, as often as you wish. It can be re-loaded at any of the 50,000 Vanilla reload centers in the U.S.
