Once you purchase the card, it's activated at the register, and can be used like a credit card at retailers within the U.S., which accept Visa. While the OneVanilla Prepaid Visa card can be used at leading retailers, you can't use it at ATM's to get a cash advance. Also it's not re-loadable, so once you use up of the amount on the Vanilla Visa prepaid card you will have to purchase another one.

Customers can also upgrade their Vanilla Visa card from a prepaid credit card to the MyVanilla Card, which acts like a personalized debit card. You can load this card with any amount you wish, as often as you wish. It can be re-loaded at any of the 50,000 Vanilla reload centers in the U.S.

To apply for this card you visit the MyVanilla Card website and fill out the application, or you can contact them through the toll free number and apply that way. The OneVanilla Prepaid Visa Card and the MyVanilla Card may well be attractive ways for some consumes to manage their money, while having the flexibility and security that credit and debit cards offer.
