Travel & Hotel Rewards Credit Card Offers

You don't need to be a Hilton to stay for free in a luxurious hotel with outstanding hotel rewards credit cards. Card issuers are offering travel rewards programs that include increased benefits and bonus point programs which can be used toward accommodations in one of the many participating hotels.

Credit Cards that offer Hotel Rewards

Accumulated hotel rewards points are often good for the life of the credit card account. While some of the hotels vary on the amount of points it will accept to constitute a free night or more of accommodations, many of the card companies will double the initial bonus points you can earn just by simply using the card. In many cases, the initial bonus points offered can total up to 15,000 points. These double point rewards are often enough to stay overnight, or for more nights, for free, depending on the selection of the hotels. There are also hotels which will honor the bonus points from credit card rewards programs as payment for upgrading room accommodations. Different card issuers have coined specific terms for their bonus points and not all of the points on individual cards carry the same benefits with the same selection of hotels. Some of such cards are offered by the hotels themselves and the more frequently you reserve and pay for accommodations at one of their company-owned hotels, the more the bonuses can increase.

Typically, there are three ways to earn the travel rewards points. For some cards, your points are earned after you have spent a designated amount of money in a certain period of time on the card. Another way to earn the points is calculated by how many eligible dollars you spend, which will likely give you one point per dollar spent on the card in most cases. There is also a bonus program offered by the hotels themselves, in which guests will receive an additional amount of points based on the length of their stay at the hotel when using their plastic card to pay for the bill. In general, most cards do not have a set limit on the number of points you can earn in any period of time. Also, the points which have accumulated do not expire and are good for the life of the account.

There is a large selection of hotels which actively participate in hotel rewards programs. A few travel rewards credit cards will also transfer your bonus points into an equivalent match in frequent flyer miles which can be used on over 30 major airline carriers. Both options are a good fit for consumers who are frequent travelers, whether for business or pleasure.

Some hotel rewards credit card offers, may have other added benefits such as low introductory annual percentage rating or a 0% APR for new accounts. Many maintain no annual account or memberships fees, though some card issuers still charge minimal fees in the range of $70-$90 a year. Also, it is important to note, some of the card companies do offer a year free of fees initially, but once the account goes beyond the initial one-year period, an annual fee may be charged for every year thereafter that the account is active. Most of these cards also offer standard benefits such as protection for unauthorized use, fraud, and theft. Many of them offer the consumer quality customer services with 24/7 account access by telephone or via internet account accessibility.
