Save More with Dillard's Rewards Cards

Dillard's currently has two card choices which are the Dillard Credit Card, usable only at Dillard's stores, and a Dillards American Express card that can be used anywhere. Both of the cards are financed by GE Capital Retail Bank, a subsidiary of powerhouse corporation General Electric. There's nothing like a line of credit when you're looking to re-stock your closet, and GE Capital Retail Bank offers just that.

Dillard's, of course, has its own reputation. Currently operating more than 300 stores in 29 states, they've come a long way since their first store opened in Nashville, Arkansas, in 1938. With over 1,000 luxury brands in stock, a credit card can certainly come in handy.

Both of the cards allow you to build points via the Dillards rewards system. This system allows cardmembers to gain points through purchases. For every 1,500 points earned, you'll receive a 10% all-day shopping pass or a $10 reward certificate. The pass is good on every item in the store except Dillards Gift Cards and there is no limit as to how much you can save with it. The more you shop, the more the price drops.

The Dillard credit card will earn you two points per dollar spent at Dillards or their website, but is not usable elsewhere. The Dillard American Express Card will also net you two points per dollar at Dillards, but can also be used at any other location and will gain points at the rate of one point per dollar. As a bonus, on groceries and gas the AmEx version will net you two points per dollar spent.

If that's not enticing enough, if you spend $100 when you sign up for the card you'll automatically receive your first 10% off pass. A great rewards system and a sign-on bonus certainly don't hurt, but even better is the chance to become an Elite Card Member when you spend $2,000 in a year. Elite members will receive big perks such as unlimited free shipping from, monthly elite-only bonus point offers, private shopping invitations, priority customer service, and unlimited free gift wrapping. If you spend $5,000 or more in a year, Dillard's will actually send you on a free getaway. Not too bad just for treating yourself to some new clothes or toys.

With the Dillards Credit Cards you'll be rewarding yourself for those tough shopping choices in no time. Regardless of which card you choose, nothing feels better at a department store than guaranteed savings.
