Get Rewards While Having Fun With Entertainment Rewards Programs

Entertainment rewards programs allow consumers to accrue points based on the dollar amount of their purchases. The bonus points can then be redeemed for a number of exclusive deals and discounts for things such as airline flights, entertainment events, recreational activities, dining, and other travel-related merchandise and specials. Typically, for every purchase dollar spent, one bonus point is rewarded. In some instances, bonus reward points are doubled with certain promotional plans, such as initially using the credit card, or for simply opening an account. These points are redeemable at any time. The accrual of bonus points is usually unlimited for the consumer and the points do not carry an expiration date.

Many of today's nationally known credit card companies provide entertainment rewards credit cards with outstanding benefits packages. However, many of the entertainment rewards credit cards are sponsored and distributed by entertainment-based companies. These specific types of company cards offer additional bonus point programs on top of the basic points for all purchases made. Should the consumer purchase merchandise or products which are made by the company offering the credit cards, the bonus points will increase. As an example, the consumer will receive 1-3 points for all purchases at any location; 3-5 points for brand-specific purchases, and 5-10 points for all online company purchases. Many card holders are also eligible to earn additional bonus points for any purchases relating to entertainment events or merchandise. Each card and card company sponsor their own specific plan and packages.

In addition to the bonus point entertainment rewards credit cards programs and the brand-specific rewards included in the programs, some entertainment rewards credit cards also offer special incentives to consumers who reside in selected cities such as Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago. Card holders in these areas are eligible to receive additional promotional discounts, deals, and benefits when the credit card is used in the city specified in the program. Several of the credit cards promote added incentives when the card is used at participating merchants and locations which are only accessible in a specific city.

Most of the credit cards companies who offer the entertainment rewards credit cards also provide benefits which are typical of other credit cards. Some of these benefits include protection against card loss, card theft, fraud, and unauthorized usage. Many of the credit card companies initially offer a low annual percentage rate or even a 0% APR for an introductory period of time. There can also be low APR's listed for balance transfers from other credit cards, and for cash advances. Annual fees for accounts depend on the individual credit cards. Several of the companies do promote no annual fees for the life of the account. A few companies offer no annual fees only for the first year but will require a yearly fee for periods after the introductory time has expired. Other card companies do require an annual membership fee, which generally ranges between $50 and $90 per year. Account access is offered 24 hours a day and 7 days a week via the internet or by contacting customer service by telephone. Electronic payments are accepted by most of the credit card companies. Card credit limits, interest rates, and overall eligibility are determined by the individual consumer's credit rating and credit history and some of the benefits and reward programs may also be affected by the consumer's credit worthiness.

Consumers who are seeking an entertainment rewards credit card that offers exclusive deals and benefits which are geared toward entertainment and other leisure or travel activities should check out all of the credit cards offering such bonus rewards and choose the card that is right for them. Benefits and bonus rewards programs do vary and consumers have a large selection of programs, rates, and other financial elements to consider.
