Thanks to a new agreement between Chase Pay and Samsung, Chase customers can link their Samsung Galaxy smartphones to their credit cards and checking accounts, enabling them to pay for purchases via mobile app at millions of stores across the country.
Samsung Pay is the most widely accepted mobile payment product in the United States, and joining forces with Chase Pay means even more convenient and rewarding payments for Chase customers. By linking Chase Pay and Samsung Pay, Chase cardholders can earn both Chase Ultimate Rewards points and Samsung Rewards points for every dollar they spend.
Samsung uses Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology and near-field communications (NFC) to provide touchless payments; customers merely have to tap their phones to the payment terminal to complete the checkout process. The app’s points feature also lets cardholders redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points in order to receive a statement credit for their purchase.
Rewards for using Chase and Samsung
Jennifer Roberts, head of Chase Pay, said the partnership would make being a Chase customer even more rewarding. “Now our customers can use the Chase Pay app at millions of merchants around the country. And Chase Ultimate Rewards customers can redeem their points more easily.”
Any Chase customer who has an eligible credit card, such as a Chase Freedom card, or a Chase Sapphire card, can use Chase Pay. Their cards are preloaded on the Chase Pay system, making it easy for cardholders to use them with the app. Paying with points, getting statement credits, and using the app to order takeout or pay for gas at the pump, are among the many benefits of using Chase Pay.
Samsung, too, offers rewards for using their digital payment platform. “Our vision for Samsung Pay is to create the most rewarding mobile shopping experience, whether consumers check out at a physical merchant to find great deals within the Samsung Pay app,” said Samsung Pay vice president and general manager Sang Ahn.
“We’re thrilled to bring Samsung Pay’s unique technology for the benefit of both Chase and Samsung’s customers by offering more choices and better mobile payment experiences.”
